2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N: New Levels of EV Performance
The 2024 Hyundai Ioniq 5 N is the N division's debut into the realm of high-performance electric vehicles and it’s also the first Hyundai N vehicle with all-wheel drive. Building on the acclaimed Ioniq 5, the 2022 World Car of the Year, Hyundai has infused the Ioniq 5 N with significantly more performance than the traditional Ioniq 5 while also introducing new technologies that optimize how the vehicle handles and feels on the road. The new Ioniq 5 N is more than just speed and power, it’s a balanced take on performance, and it is very special.
Design
The design of the Ioniq 5 N is a careful blend of aesthetics and function, with every visual element enhancing the vehicle's sportiness, aerodynamics, or braking performance. The exterior features an N Mask graphic fascia with functional mesh, an air curtain, three front Active Air Flaps, a wing-type rear spoiler, rear diffuser, and air outlet — all working together to manage optimal airflow and enhance component cooling.
Inside, the Ioniq 5 N features racing bucket seats with a lower seating position and a steering wheel with dedicated controls for adjusting various modes. The seats, featuring two design options — Cloth & Leather or Eco Alcantara & Leather — are adorned with a pixel pattern.
The exterior design and engineering lend the Ioniq 5 N a wider, lower stance with larger 21-inch wheels and extended bumpers, further enhancing its aggressive posture. The front and rear suspension systems have been reimagined to optimize drivability and ensure optimal stability around sharp corners. The car is available in ten exterior colours, including the exclusive Hyundai N Performance Blue Glossy and Performance Blue Matte.

The Ioniq 5 N's electric powertrain features an 84.0-kWh battery with a maximum power output of 600 horsepower, or 641 horsepower with the N Grin Boost function engaged, and 547 pound-feet of torque (568 pound-feet with NGB). It boasts a top speed of 258 km/h and a 0-100 km/h time of just 3.5 seconds (3.4 seconds with NGB).

The Ioniq 5 N stays true to the Corner Rascal pillar of Hyundai's N brand, delivering impressive lateral rigidity with its enhanced motor and battery mounting, reinforced front and rear subframes, and World Rally Championship-inspired Integrated Drive Axles (IDA).
Hyundai N Pillar: Racetrack Capability
The Ioniq 5 N showcases its racetrack prowess with its N Race feature, which optimizes resources for the best track experience. In terms of power and torque, the Ioniq 5 N doesn't hold back, but it’s the overall balance that truly shines. The Ioniq 5 N’s accelerations are among the quickest you will find in a production vehicle, but the new high-performance EV can also manage corners like a true exotic vehicle, and powers out of corners with confidence and conviction.
Hyundai N Pillar: Everyday Sportscar
The Ioniq 5 N also shines as a daily driver. It features the N e-shift, which simulates the behaviour of an eight-speed dual-clutch N DCT by controlling the motor's torque output and simulating the jolt feeling between shifts. The suspension is designed to handle the most difficult turns, but at highway speed it is softer and more compliant, ensuring that the Ioniq 5 N doesn’t punish its owner on their way to work.
Connectivity & Convenience
The Ioniq 5 N boasts the Hyundai Connected Car Navigation Cockpit (ccNC) that combines a 12.3-inch instrument cluster and a 12.3-inch infotainment display, including specific graphics and options for N mode. It includes Over-the-Air (OTA) updates to wirelessly update system features. With Plug & Charge, the Ioniq 5 N starts charging as soon as it is connected to a charging point without the need for a card or app for authentication.
